Farfalle originates from the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions of northern Italy. From the Italian for "butterfly", this bow tie pasta dates back to the 15th century and is best suited for cream and light tomato based dishes. Made with organic durum wheat semolina using traditional bronze dies, this pasta has a rough textured surface which allows it to better capture and hold sauces once cooked.
